FAQ's
ARE ALL OF YOUR PIECES HANDMADE?
Yes all of them are! We make them in our studio in Lewes by hand with the help of our laser cutter. The nature of hand-making products is that sometimes they differ from item to item, so please bear this in mind when ordering a product. We will do our best to make sure they are as close to the sales photo as possible.
WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE?
We work with birch plywood, along with some wooden veneers. Wood is a natural material which differs from piece to piece, so may look different from item to item.
We are in the process of transitioning from using 925 Sterling Silver stud posts & butterflies to hypoallergenic nickle-free titanium. It will say on the listing which one your earrings will be made from, and if you would specifically like titanium then please send us an email first.
ARE YOUR MATERIALS SUSTAINABLE?
All of our plywood is FSC approved meaning that the wood has been either sourced from well-managed forests or is recycled. We buy our plywood from a Lewes-based supplier so are supporting a local business.
Unfortunately due to the glues in plywood, it is not a biodegradable wood and has to be incinerated after use. With this in mind we always keep wastage to a minimum.
Our packaging is now all made from paper or card and has been printed with soy-based vegan friendly inks, and our stickers are biodegradable.
DOES THE COLOUR ON A PRODUCT ALWAYS LOOK THE SAME?
The nature of mixing and applying colour by hand means there will be slight variations in the colour, hue and gradient on the painted pieces. We will do our best to make each consistent but we are only human, the robots don't do everything for us yet!
